Methodology used: Discrete simulation with Extend.

Brief description: The model developed was implemented in a discrete simulator, which generates each load order and simulates the allocation and movement of each locomotive and groups of wagons to respond to them. The simulation is stochastic, since the times, both of movement and of loading and unloading, are simulated in a random way, with a statistic that was elaborated from the actual data of operation.
